AT-HM Co-contributions for Occupational Therapists

Participant co-contributions are one of the most commonly misunderstood parts of the Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) scheme under Support at Home.

 

Occupational Therapists working in Australian community aged care are regularly asked what an item will cost a participant, often at the assessment visit and before any assessment letter is available.

Two questions sit behind that conversation. What does this cost the participant, and how much of their AT-HM funding does it use? They are different numbers, and they do not move together.

This calculator separates any AT-HM quote into the co-contribution, the government-funded amount, and the amount drawn from the participant's tier. It covers both standard and 'no worse off' contribution arrangements, and it flags where a rate cannot be estimated without a Services Australia assessment.
