About the event

Overview

The Aged Care Act 2024 commenced on 1 November 2025, bringing with it significant changes to how restrictive practices must be managed, documented, and overseen in home and community settings. This webinar brings you up to speed in a way that's grounded in real clinical practice not just compliance checkboxes.

This session is designed specifically for Occupational Therapists working in community aged care. Joined by a subject matter expert and Behavioural Support Practitioner, we will work through the clinical and legislative realities of behaviour support and restrictive practices in this setting, where risk and compliance is high, defensible documentation is a must, and the right call is not always obvious.

You'll leave with a clearer understanding of:

  • An understanding of positive behaviour support relevant to the people they support

  • What counts as a restrictive practice in a home and community context and what doesn't
