About the event
Overview
This session will unpack the OT's role in manual handling for aged care and what that means in practice under Support at Home.
Manual handling is one of the most significant and preventable risks in aged care, yet its connection to occupational therapy is frequently underestimated. This session explores how OTs can confidently assess risk, prescribe the right equipment, and design safe transfer approaches for older adults that aligns with the aged care reforms including the AT-HM Scheme and professional obligations under current legislation.
Whether you're new to aged care practice or want to build your confidence with manual handling, this session will give you the frameworks, documentation language, and prescribing confidence to deliver safe, high-quality care.
